Re: i need help

This is actually a question of Criminal Law.

You should hire a lawyer to represent you. The less you say, the better.

You do not have to testify in the case. The prosecution must prove the elements of the crime or infraction in question.

Re: i need help

If you possibly can, hire a criminal defense lawyer well in advance of your court date so that the lawyer can accompany you to court. On your court date, you could be charged with other crimes. If you are not charged with a theft crime you will be very lucky indeed. In the meantime, do not talk to the police except to say you want a lawyer.
