Blame for hit and run

Hi, My grandfather was blame for a hit and run.

In July My grandpa parked at a red light waitting to turn left. A car came behind and hit him in the back. He got out of the car and took a look at the bumper but he did not see much damage. The other driver beg him to leave because the was little damage and no one was hurt. My grandpa got back in the car and wainted for the light to turn green and drove home. Later the police came to the house and site him for a hit and run. How can we prove that it was not his fault? Do we need a Lawyer? If so How much will it cost?

Thanks

He definitely needs to have an attorney to represent him in this matter. The cost of hiring an attorney will depend upon the area in which you live and the individual attorney. I would expect that this is charged as misdemeanor, and that the attorney fees would range from $4,000 to $8,000. If he cannot afford to retain an attorney the court will appoint an attorney to represent him.
