Legal Question in Traffic Law in California

I live in California.

I received a misdemeanor for reckless driving (23103(a)vc) at noon on a Sunday at a college campus. However, the cop did not see me drive - another person called the cops on me and performed a citizens arrest. Should I go with a public defender or hire a lawyer? I am a college student so hiring a lawyer is a very expensive route to take.

Get an attorney. A reckless driving misdemeanor is serious. There might be many ways to fight or resolve this.

FIRST AND FOREMOST; this is not a traffic question. YOU HAVE A CRIMINAL case. Where you can go to jail for up to 90 days.

As to public defender or private attorney, do you want to meet with your attorney and discuss the case? No PD does that. Do you want help with your school if they take action (you left out what you were doing at a school, but..)? No PD does that.

Do you take the bus (PD), or prefer to have your own car?
