Legal Question in Traffic Law in California

What is speeding?

There is an intersection here that is a speed trap. First, one turns the corner and begins to drive. One starts from 0.0. This happens at a school. So we all go slowly. Then, the school is passed and everyone speeds up to 35. Naturally, it is easy to over shoot. I overshot to 51. But here is the issue. One second late, one must start to slow down. There is a red light. And everyone slows down. So while I technically was speeding, I was only speeding for about three seconds. Can the police really ticket one for this? Can the ticket be contested?

Yes they can, if they can prove it. Easier to do if they got you on radar.

By the way is it a speed trap, sounds more like a school. Also sounds like you were going a little too quick.
