Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in California

I have executorship over my mother's living trust. Can I add my brother as co-executor? Is this a relatively simple process. I do not want to resign, but want to share responsbilities with my brother. For some reason, everyone suggests only one, but I don't want that.

As a Trustee over your mother's trust, you may or may not be able to add a co-trustee depending on the language of the trust. Otherwise, you might have to petition the court. If you would like to discuss this matter further, please contact our office at858.558.1191

One other possibility -- in addition to what Mr. Webb suggests -- is to hire him as an advisor, to do accountings, etc. But you, as trustee, are ultimately responsible for reviewing his work and approving it.
