Mrs. Nelson,

I am sorry for your loss. If the house was in his name, it will likely have to go through probate. You really should contact an estate planning attorney. They should be able to give you information that you will need moving forward.

I am very sorry for your loss. It's possible that a spousal property petition will work which is much cheaper and quicker than a full probate. I encourage you to find a qualified probate attorney to talk about the options. Good luck to you. -John

I am very very sorry for your loss. You need to consult with a probate attorney, who will likely do so without charge, so that you can understand your options, your obligations, and the time periods for taking certain actions.
