Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in California

My lawyer left the case I think retired she drew up the receipt of distribution, can we use the one she drew up or does a new lawyer have to draw up another one

I don't see why not, as that is the last document that needs to be filed with the court, except a discharge of the executor, should be filed to close the case with the court. You might be wise to seek a short counseling with a probate lawyer to be sure no details have been left undone in closing the case.
