Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in California

trust - sue??

Father died inteste 4 years ago and his home signed over by children to his widow with promise house would be left to us. Instead step mother of 4 yrs loaned house proceeds to her daughter to buy a home for them as joint tenants. Step mother in law passed 1 yr ago and left what was owed to us in trust. The daughter she ''loaned'' the money to is the executor. She claims her mother left 50k in debts and there is no money to pay us what was given us in the trust. After repeated requests executor did send copy of trust (tho it seemed to be missing pages) but has ignored other correspondence. We have asked for proof of 50k debts and ignored. The amount owed us is 70k, amongst 4 siblings so less than 20k each. Does it sound like we have a case? The 4 siblings won't necessarily agree on spending $ on an attorney; do you think we necessarily need to do as a group?
