Legal Question in Workers Comp in California

If a corporation's owner is it's only employee, is it required to have worker's compensation insurance.

I do not believe so, and I think they probably would notsell you a policy. Call State Fund, numerous offices through out state and see wht they say.

If you have a one person standard C corporation, you might want to change the company's legal identity. There is a good Nolo Press book by Anothy Mancuso Quick LLC with charts at 2/45 that point out the major advantage over a S corporation or LLC is the ability to attract employees with stock options and health plans, which do not matter as to yuorself, but a corportaion requires much more paperwork, and you can change to a sub chapter S with a simple tax election.
