Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Canada

landlord and tenant dispute

a tenant recently in a fit of anger put 8 holes in the walls of my new house, which the police were of no help and said its a civil matter, they did not even try to arrest him, which i think is discraceful,as if i had not got out of the way it could of been my face,so although i am going to small claims court to try to recover my costs, my question is am i alone in this mess , or should the police have taken more serious action, due to a violent person out there , who could of killed me?

Re: landlord and tenant dispute

You should go see the local magistrate to determine whether you can swear out a warrant against this tenant for the crime known as destruction of property.
