Legal Question in Civil Rights Law in Colorado

wronful disshcarge and trust of pharmacist

I work in a boarding home for the elderly. I have never had a problem there. I have a known drug abuse past, but have it well under control, and take well to do so. I use the same pharmacy as this establishment, and recently filled a couple of prescriptions. The pharmacist contacted my boss and discussed my uses and the amount of doctors I have. I have filed a complaint with the state of colo concerning what he did. My boss will not let me back to work now, and I think it's wrong as I have done nothing wrong.

Re: wronful disshcarge and trust of pharmacist

You should consult an attorney in Colorado dealing with medical negligence and medical privacy issues immediately. If your pharmacist contacted your employer and disclosed your prescriptions to that individual he breached his duty to you, and if that caused your employer to affect your employment, you may have a case against that pharmacist.
