Can a god parent get custody her godchild, if the god parent believes the parents are unfit? If so, how?

In Colorado, any person may seek custody of a child if they qualify under the standing requirements. The person must have either cared for the child for at least six months, or the child has not in the physical care of either parent. If you don't qualify under either of those requirements and you think the child is being endangered, you should contact the social services department to conduct an investigation and request either temporary or permanent placement with you.
