Legal Question in Traffic Law in Colorado

Citizen Complaint led to Reckless Driving Ticket no speeding

my son was driving down a cul de sac in our neighborhood on small street. He stopped at corner and when he started up again his tires squeeled. A lady in the house called the police and when my son came back an hour later the police was waiting at the house. The police admits he saw nothing, he was not even there, but by only the lady saying she ''heard'' the squeel and her neighbor also heard it,he was given a Reckless driving ticket. Because small children live in the house but they were not outside. Can this really be possible? HE is to go to court in 6 weeks and could have his license taken away for up to a year. He is 20, college student, one speeding ticket for 5 mph over the limit which he paid,a year ago. Has geod standing in community and has been no problems to anyone. What should we do?

He should fight it. He may be offered a plea to a lessor charge, but I wonder how anyone knows that it was his car that made the squeal???
