Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Connecticut

Spouses responsibilty concerning wage garnishments

I am about to get married in a couple of months and would like to know if my future wife had a debt from before we were married and we are not able to pay, if they proceed to get a judgement against her and she is not working because she is in school and has no property, can they garnish my wages even though I was not married to her at the time of debt and it is not in my name. We were trying to make arrangements with them but they are very difficult.

Thank you.
