Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Connecticut

Worth persuing tenant debit?

My tenants have skipped the rent to the tune of $11600. they were evicted and have little in assets. Is it worth persuing a judgement on two people in their sixties who have nothing? Any advice? Thanks

Re: Worth persuing tenant debit?

I would suggest suing for the unpaid rent to obtain a judment as they may come into some assets that you would be able to levy the assets and receive some payment. If the amount of past due rent was much lower than $11,000 +/-, my opinion would most likely be to forget it. It's a financial decision you have to make. Hope this helps, Tom Noonan

I certainly would file the judgment in the county where they reside but I wouldn't pursue them. You've already said they don't have anything.
