Legal Question in Criminal Law in Connecticut

Reckless Driving

I was charged with reckless driving for supposedly going 88 in a 65. I haven't been able to find any resources to help with my case and haven't been able to find a lawyer for under $2500. My question is what do I have the right to do in Connecticut? Is it worth fighting?

Any help will be greatly appreciated

Re: Reckless Driving

Attorney's Fees are of much concern for many people. I would be interested in reviewing the charges at hand and possible defenses. I offer a free initial consultation. In addition, my fees are quite reasonable. Give me a call at (203) 792-0070 to discuss your case.

Re: Reckless Driving

You are only a couple of miles into the reckless driving criteria.I would suggest you retain an attorney who regularly practices in the Court where you have to appear. Demmis P. McDonough

Re: Reckless Driving

You haven't given many facts, but it's worth fighting in the sense that if there was no accident, noone hurt, and you don't have a prior record that has a lot of this stuff and if you make a good presentation, you or your attorney may get the charge reduced or nolle'd. All depends. Don't just let it go, though. Even if you don't hire an atty. Go for the first court date and talk to the prosecutor. Not arguing that the police officer was wrong and you were right, unless you've got proof, but that you were not intending to go that fast, e.t.c. Much of this depends on initial position of prosecutor. Depends also on what court and how busy the docket is.

Good Luck
