If a child is born and the parents are not married who has custody? In that case, is a mother legally able to prevent the father from seeing/speaking to their child with no just reason or court order?

The mother has custody until the father can prove paternity in court. Yes, she can prevent the father from seeing the child until a court order says otherwise.
