Legal Question in Family Law in Connecticut

My husband will not allow me to take my son or any of our belongings out of our house that is up for foreclosure. He is trying to keep my son as far from me as possible. We are living in the same house until this weekend because I found a house to rent and will be moving out. I am afraid that if I leave without my son I may never see him again. If I go to the courthouse, can I get temporary custody of my son?

You should not leave without your son. You can leave with your son, so long as there are no court orders that state you can not. Unless there are court orders in place due to a pending divorce, you are free to do what you want.

You can not get temporary custody of your son unless you file for divorce and file a motion for temporary custody. Then you have to wait a while before you get a court date.

If you have any questions, you should consult with an attorney.
