Legal Question in Employment Law in Connecticut

Harassment??

My boss has been involved in extramarital relationship for some time now and its been affected my performance and the department's performance in general. He's consistently on the phone with the 'other' and has asked me several times to 'cover' for him should his wife call. He's taken extended lunches and mornings to be with this other women and has also asked me to cover should anyone ask. I told him I was uncomfortable with even being in the middle of this but he's insisted that it was just a minor favor and that I may need one from him one day. I've been stressed for the past year over this and I dont know what to do. I've asked him to not put me in the middle but he's consistently put me there. I am afraid of the backlash should I voice my concern to upper management who also knows of his 'extramarital' relationship. I no longer want to work for the company as their acceptance of this behavior is totally agains my beliefs. What can I do? I can no longer concentrate at work and this has been bothering since the begining but it's become a daily task to keep this secret. Thank you!

Re: Harassment??

If you do not want to work for the company, then you can resign. If you do not feel comfortable, then you should voice your concern. If management takes any adverse action against you for your reporting, then you may have a cause of action. Are you leaving because of this situation? Or is this just one of the reasons why you are leaving? If it is, then you may be protected under the law.
