Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Connecticut

Do i have to go through the eviction process to remove a family member from my home? My brother has lived with me for 5yrs under a verbal agreement (no lease or contract involved) and i now want him to vacate and he refuses to leave. What can i do to get him out? Do i have to go to court?

Yes, you have to evict him if he will not leave voluntarily. Since it's been his home, it does not matter that he has not paid rent or does not have a lease.
