Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Connecticut

am I liable?

My mother-in-law has the very beginnings of Alzheimers, but is not bad enough for us to take over her life. She lives in our house (we bought it from her). Our neighbor is building a fence on the property line, but she thinks he is taking an extra inch. So she has pulled up the stakes and destroyed part of his fence. Could he sue me?

Re: am I liable?

If you did not remove the stakes or destroy the fence your neighbor has no claim against you. Of course that doesn't mean he won't name you but you are not liable.
