hurt on job
my brother recently fell down an elevator shaft that was not blocked off while he was delivering materials to the site, he was hurt pretty seriously. for some reason the company wants him to do a urine test to search for drugs. Why? He has no history of using and is this legal? Should he comply? Should he get an attorney

There are several aspects to your question. The first is that a workman compensation claim may be available. Second is whether a workman compensation claim is being properly addressed.
In Maryland the use of illegal drugs can be shown as a contribution to the injury. If shown there would be no award for a claim against a third party.
A workman compensation claim is brought against the employer and is not a third party claim.
