Legal Question in Criminal Law in District of Columbia

Self defense

My son and girlfriends father had an argument. The girld friends dad kept smooshing my son in the head. My son said stop. The man pulled out a knife and my son hit him one time. The man is now on life support because my son hit him that hard. My son is scared and on the run. What should i do. My sister told me that my son did nothing wrong. She said he defended his self. My sister told me also that he needs to just turn his self in. My sis is studying to be a paralegal.

Re: Self defense

Looks like your "sis" has got it all right for this particular situation and that she should probably continue on to law school.

Tell the boy to come on back home and surrender to law enforcement authorities if a warrant has been issued for him. (Then see that he hires a competent defense counsel or gets one appointed for him by the court.)
