Suspended Imposition of Sentence

Can a SIS (Suspended Imposition of Sentence) be cleared on a felony firearms charge after a probation period expires and conditions of probation are met?

You should direct this question to the attorney who represented you in this matter, and who would

be in the best position to go forward with the expungement of the record, as its termed.

I know your situation. Even though you avoided the sentence, I take it you did enter a plea and the Court entered a finding of guilt but deferred the sentence. We've had some experience in this area and most of it has been negative in terms of clearing the record which will haunt you forever. Even in cases where there is NO prosecution and the charges dropped, when we file the motion to expunge, the U.S. Attorney's office comes out with a vigorous opposition making so that you would almost have to prove you were innocent in the first place in order to win expungement. The U.S. Attorney and the DC Corporation Counsel have a policy to protect that arrest record. But,it is worth the shot. It is not a cakewalk. Good luck.
