Legal Question in Medical Leave in District of Columbia

Hello! This in regard to the family leave act in Washington DC.

I work for an employer who has more than 20 employees, however they work in Maryland, Washington DC and Virginia. I work for the Washington DC office although I work from

home in Virginia.

Would I qualify for the family leave act considering I would qualify in every other way except

my employer does not have 20 employees working in Washington DC and possibly virgina.

thank you!

50 employees(not 20) is the minimum number that the employer must have within a 75 mile radius of your workplace site in order to be covered by the Family & Medical Leave Act.

If your employer does not have this number of employees as specified, you

could not qualify for FMLA leave.
