Legal Question in Traffic Law in District of Columbia

Accident Blame

I was turning at a left arrow and a car ran the light and hit me when the police arrived she said her light was green but I told him I had a green arrow nobody that stopped stayed to give a report. The office didn't site anybody and when we called our insurance she had already called it in against us now the insurance has to fight it out what do we need to do to make sure we aren't held at fault?

Re: Accident Blame

It would seem advisable in this circumstance for you to provide your insurer with a written statement providing a full account of the accident,

emphasizing, of course, that you were not issued a ticket by the investigating police officer, and that you deny all liability/responsibility for this accident.

And, then, of course, there is the issue as to how you will recover whatever damages your vehicle may have incurred from this accident due to the alleged negligence of this other driver.
