Legal Question in Disability Law in Florida

I lent a person in florida 3K in nov 09. He signed a promissory note to pay but now refuses. I have no money to sue. He owns nothing and I am not even sure he has a job any longer. He did when I lent him the money. What are my options or are thereeven any?

You can sue the individual in small claims court. However, it appears that it's not worth it if he isn't working. It will cost you a few hundred dollars to initiate the lawsuit and all you will end up with (if you can provide a copy of the promissory note) is a judgment against the individual. A judgment doesn't equal immediate cash. So basically, you will still have to wait until he obtains employment or comes into some cash/assets.
