Legal Question in Bankruptcy in Florida

Payments?

Once an individual declares bankruptcy, and files the forms officially through the court, does that stop all creditors from continuing to add late fees and finance charges? Also, once bankruptcy is delclared, should one discontinue making any further payments to creditors? Obviously that is the point, but I would appreciate advice just in case. Thank you.

Re: Payments?

Yes, all payments should cease excepting for certain items you expect to retain such as your home and vehicle. I urge to consult with a competent atty ...at your first opportunity.
