Legal Question in Business Law in Florida

Sigining an aggreement

My employer is insiting on me sigining a aggreement that for three years due to my access to sensitive info. I can not seek employment with any competitors, should I leave or get dissmissed from the company for any reason.

Ill sign it for not realeasing the sensitive information but for me not to seek employment with another comapny, is that against the law. I feel I shouldn't sign it, or ask him to revise it. Can I get fired for not sigining this aggreement?
