Harrassment?

i've been having battles with someone over the net for a few years now he claims that i abuse welfar and beat my kids and that he is having someone watch me. i went to the police and they basically shrugged it off saying you cant take stuff said on the internet seriously, the fbi was no help either. i took screen shots of some comments he made on a website but most people tell me screen shots are inadmissable and other tell me my only recourse is a cease and desist.

You're best recourse probably is to not interact with this person and then seek a court order when you can show that all the action is on their side and you are not interacting with them. This assumes they have not committed a serious crime against you.
