is it legal for a lawyer to be working between to court cases at one time

I just was in small claims clurt-my lawyer was wworking on two cases at the same time- delaying my case while he went to another court room for at least a half hour- is this legal

I'm not familliar with Florida law, but in California it is perfectly legal and happens all the time. I can't imagine why it would be illegal in other states, since lawyers have very little control in advance over when or where their court dates will be. Lawyers need to have several cases going on at any given time, and sometimes this means there will be concurrent hearings in different matters.

As long as you aren't being billed for the time your attorney spends on another client's case there most likely isn't a problem.
