Legal Question in Consumer Law in Florida

Backing out of a sale

I answered an ad for two puppies. The seller was asking $275 for both. We agreed to meet but before we did, the seller called me back to say she wanted to keep one of the dogs but did I still want the other one. I didn't - I wanted two together. The next day, I saw the same two puppies advertised in a different place for $450 for both. Apparently from the response to the first ad, the seller realized she could get more that $275. Do I have any legal rights here? Nothing was signed.

No. Since it was only an offer to sell that had not yet been accepted, the Seller had the absolute right to withdraw her offer and reprice the puppies. Of course, if this is the Seller's normal course of business, it may discourage buyers in the future, but you have no recourse at this juncture.

Re: Backing out of a sale

Nope . . . . there was no contract and all you did was agree to meet. She withdrew her offer to sell before there was any acceptance.
