Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Florida

Foreclosure Case

I am being sued for foreclosure. It was initiated in 2007. Nothing is final. However, the case is not showing up anywhere on the County website. Why would that be?

Re: Foreclosure Case

You should look at paperwork that was served on you. Paperwork from a court case should have something called a "docket number" on it. Look for that number.

You should contact the clerk of court for the county where the property being foreclosed is located. If you know your docket number, the clerk should be able to check the status of your case, and some counties allow you to view the docket (dated list of all court events and paperworks filed at the court) online.

If you do not have your docket number, then try to call the clerk of court and ask for assistance in finding this number and how to get information on a case filed in that county.
