Ex Husband not paying court ordered legal bill

My attorney is holding me responsible for the $13000 legal servics bill from my divorce even though the Judge ordered my ex husband to pay the bill with the divorce/child custody papers. The ex is not paying the bill and my attorney is now going to lien my home. Can my attorney do this?

Re: Ex Husband not paying court ordered legal bill

Yes. You have a contract with your attorney. If your ex-husband doesn't pay, you have to pay. You can then take your ex back to Court for the unpaid attorneys fees, but between you and your ex and your attorney, you owe your attorney his fees.
