Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Florida

Are new owners responsible for past due bill.

I small convienent store owns my company money. The store was sold and the old owners and the new owners both refuse to pay saying the other is responsible for payment. Who do i have a right to request pay the balance.

This all depends on how you conducted your transaction. If your transaction was with a corporate entity, then your claim is against that corporate entity. Whoever may now own that entity is not important as the old and new owner will have to fight it out between themselves as to who has to pay.

It depends on if the new owners purchased the corporation or just the asets of the company. I would of course start with the person who you signed the contract or did the work for and have them prove that they do not owe it.
