Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Florida

Is there a statute of limitations on medical bills/collections. I have just been declared disabiled. I have just recieved two collection bills. This is the first I have heard of owing these bills except maybe I was notified around the time of origination, (I am not sure) which is a whole other story. First collection, date written 5/24/2012, amount due 10,839.71, it includes a list of services rendered dated from 6/21/2004 to 11/23/2006 for various amounts all due to the same facility. Which I believe might be hospitol due to the various dates and amounts but same provider. The second, date written 6/08/2012, amount due 277.00, provider hospitol for services rendered on 9/15/2006.

If I owe these and there is no statue of limitations on them. Can I fill bankruptcy on medical bills?

Thaank You!

Based on what you state, it appears the statute of limitations has expired. You may have a Fair Debt Credit Act claim against he colledtion company if they continue to pursue you.
