Legal Question in Criminal Law in Florida

I was arrested for trespassing in Florida back in October 2007, I had to do community service and go through a diversion program, I am now trying to get a job a a corrections officer in Texas however they state:

"You cannot have had a Class A or B misdemeanor conviction within the past 5 years. For all TDCJ purposes, conviction of a criminal offense includes paid fine, time served, placed on probation (includes deferred adjudication), and court ordered restitution."

I am not sure what a class A or B is and if I am disqualified. Thank You

In Florida, misdemeanor offenses are not categorized as Class A and/or Class B. This is a designation used in Texas. To determine whether you may run into an issue, I recommend contacting an attorney in your area in Texas so that they can assist you in determining whether your trespassing offense falls under either of these designations. You may need to provide that attorney with more details about your specific offense, as there is more than one misdemeanor level trespassing offense in Florida.

Good Luck.

According to the Texas Penal Code, Trespassing is a Class B Misdemeanor. However, if you successfully completed a diversion program then you were not convicted under any definition of the word.
