Legal Question in Criminal Law in Florida

I damaged someone's car and paid for it. However, after the person claimed I did $300 more in damage and if I didn't pay she would have me jailed because she told the police not to charge me if I paid and now if i don't pay $300 more she will tell the police to arrest me. Is this possible?

Yes and no. Fact is you could pay that and more and still be charged. On the flip side, you could pay nothing, the other person could agree not to prosecute and you could still be charged. This is of course, assuming you committed a crime. If this was just an accident, and you exchanged information and only now does this person want money, then no you can not be arrested, as you committed no crime. In fact, this person would be committing a crime of tampering with a witness, a felony, by attempting to offer you leniency on a case, in exchange for money. Clearly illegal. I suggest you call an attorney in your area, before you go any further.
