Let me put it this way, it is illegal to pay a person for sexual activity. Many people try to get around this by saying the money was not for sex but the sex just happened - law enforcement does not fall for that. Additionally, you have to be careful that law enforcement is not "on the prowl" watching this because being arrested is an awful thing especially when you have done nothing wrong (yes, it happens). That being said, it is not illegal to pay a person to be with you for a period of time.
