Legal Question in Criminal Law in Florida
We paid a plumber $500 to buy materials to do a job for us. That was three weeks ago, and he has not been back. He called yesterday and said that he would return our money today but never showed up.
Can we charge him with fraud, or do we have to take him to small claims court?

You should do both. Contact the police if you haven't already and also file suit.
