Legal Question in Criminal Law in Florida

I have a public defender, i want to have the court allow me to have a private attorney at the states expence. There is a conflict between me and the public defender. They want me to take a plea deal and i want to go to trial but the public defender has never done a trial on my charges.How would i word my request to the judge?

You don't have the right to choose your court appointed attorneys. If there is a true legal conflict such as the public defender represents a co defendant then that is something you can take up with the judge. If it is because you just don't get along, then your only choice is to hire an attorney. You have certain rights that no attorney can force on you. They can't force you to enter a plea and they can't force you to testify. I suggest you talk with your public defender and explain the conflict and see if that helps.
