Legal Question in Criminal Law in Florida

Sealing/Expungement

In 1994, I was convicted of neglect of a child, FL 827.05. The judge did withold adjucation. I completed all terms that he set.

Question 1: May I apply to have this conviction sealed? Then, expunged in 10 years?

Question 2: What is FS 943.0585 mean?

Thanks,

Linda

Re: Sealing/Expungement

Hello, You are eligible to have your child neglect charge sealed, as it is not an inelligible offense. Then ten years after the sealing, you may move to have it expunged. Please know that sealing and expunging are functional equivelants.

Second, 943.0585 is the statute that deals with expunction. Section 943.059 is the statute that deals with sealing.

Finally, I would be happy to help you with your expungement. Please feel free to call me at (407) 540-1551 or visit my website at www.richardhornsby.com

Best of luck,
