Legal Question in Elder Law in Florida

compensation for elder care

My stepdad died recently and left my 92 yr old Mom well off with a substantial trust for her. She sold her senior housing condo (against my wishes)and now lives with my husband and me and pays room/board. My husband does not think she pays enough and wants me to ask for more. We are saving ''the estate'' funds also retired and on fixed income. Mom needs help with most things and walks with a cane..has had a few TIA's. Is there a rule of thumb for proper compensation? What is left of the estate on my Mom's passing is divided 5 ways...I have two brothers,1 stepsister, 1 stepbrother. FL winters,ME summers

Re: compensation for elder care

This is not a legal question. "proper compensation" would depend on what the rent value is and what you do.
