Legal Question in Family Law in Florida

I am getting 25% of my husband business and he will pay it in several years. Between life insurance policies and 401K that is not enough collateral in case something happens to him and cannot paid. What other forms of securities can I hold?. Can I asked for company stocks?.

you are entitled to atleast l/2 is not more - however waiting could be your downfall because the economy is so uneasy right now. I suggest you get the business valued as of today and get your share today - have him finance the amount so that you can get your funds upfront. Company stock is only worth what the market will bare - not a good thing. you will be entitled to 1/2 of the 401K - you can roll that over into an IRA for you without having to pay taxes. I suggest you get an attorney before you make any decisions. There are no do overs if you make a mistake.
