Legal Question in Family Law in Florida

My brother and wife have been separated for 17 years - no divorce. He has not supported her since that time. He is now collecting a Veterans pension for injuries received during the Vietnam War. He lives in FL and she in CT. She is now suing for 1/2 his pension. Can she do that?

I assume she filed for divorce in Connecticut. She wouldn't have a right to file in Florida, since she doesn't live here. If that's the case, you'd have to ask a Connecticut lawyer. Pensions are contolled by state law.
