Legal Question in Family Law in Florida

change of first name

The first and middle name on my birth certificate was and is incorrect. My mother never corrected it and I've always used the name she gave me, not the one on my birth certificate.

My social security card, driver's license and school records all have my ''real'' name on them. Since they're all different from the name on my birth certificate, do I need to legally have it changed? How do I go about doing this?

Thank you. MJ Massey

Re: change of first name

A name change requires a court order. Certain documets must be filed and a notice must be published. Call me at 561 998 9401 if you need representation. Good luck.
