Legal Question in Family Law in Florida

I was engaged for a year. My former financee broke it off last year. since then, he won't give me back my items, unless i return the engagement. he also owes me 5000. this guy is financially deep in trouble. he double mortgaged his home, and cheated the irs.

i don't want to return the ring, i do want to litigate for the out of pocket money. please advise.

So, sue him for the $$ he owes you. If he has a brain, he will countersue for return of the ring (and win on the counterclaim). A judge will off-set the value of the ring and what is owed to you, and will rule accordingly.
