Legal Question in Family Law in Florida

my ex-boyfriend and i have not yet received a court date for custody of our son. he lives in chicago and i live in florida with our son. am i required to take our son to chicago to visit him and am i required to let him visit him here in florida before visitation rights have been set in court?

You're not required to go to Chicago. You should speak to a lawyer about letting the father visit while in Florida. My initial answer is that you should, but you are not required to. However, it could hurt your custody case if you don't. In an in-person meeting, a lawyer could give you a better answer based on your circumstances.
