Can an ex-wife dictate how the ex-husband can live by using the child's visitation as leverage?

No - if the papers you had when divorced did not limit your life style - then she will have to take you back to court to show EVIDENCE (NOT WORD OF MOUTH) that you are doing something inappropriate with you child being present. I suspect this has to do with a girlfriend - as long as you are not having sex in front of the child - I believe you are ok.
