There is no such thing as a legal separation in Florida. Florida does not require any period of separation prior to a divorce.

You can file for a divorce and if it is uncontested, it can be finalized prior to your business opportunity being completed. You will need to make a full financial disclosure to your spouse, including this opportunity, as part of the mandatory disclosure.

Re: legal speration

You can do a relatively fast dissolution by waiver if your wife/husband will agree. You will need to advise of the upcoming business opportunity however.
